Then look no further! The Hook Up has outfitted this fly fishing clinic specifically for the beginner to intermediate fly fisherman looking to learn skills and techniques from the states premier fly fishing guides.
The Hook Up Outfitters is Arizona’s only Orvis Endorsed Guide Service, and has been teaching the art of fly fishing for over a decade. The fly fishing clinic was designed to introduce new anglers to fly fishing using the best instructors in the state, so the students can walk away with real knowledge and feel comfortable pursuing fly fishing on their own.

Fly Fishing Clinic students should expect to learn proper fly casting technique, equipment set up, stream and lake fly fishing basics, knot tying, entomology, proper techniques to hook and land fish, and fly line management including stripping and mending. Our guides will also cover equipment basics and fly selections, so our students will be comfortable knowing what they are looking for when purchasing their own gear.

Our main location for our fly fishing clinics is at Lake Pleasant. Lake Pleasant allows a nice mix of grass and water for instruction, as well as classrooms and store facilities. We also offer special location classes for groups of 10 or more.

As with all of our guided fishing adventures, these classes include use of Orvis rods and reels, waders, boots, line, leaders, tippet, and flies. If you have your own equipment, bring it and we will help you get familiar with it. Lake Pleasant’s close proximity to Phoenix/Scottsdale makes this an easy trip to fit around any schedule. The Hook Up’s certified casting instructors and full time guides make this an excellent way to springboard your fly fishing obsession!
