Eco and Night Eco Adventures

Do you want to be submersed with wildlife, lush vegetation, and native history?
Are you looking for the ultimate Sonoran Desert experience while in Arizona?
Then this is your trip! The Hook Up operates the finest Eco Tours in Arizona. Step onboard our 24 foot Ranger bay boat, and experience the desert landscape like never before!
The desert environment comes to life with water. The vegetation is thicker, the wildlife more abundant, and the history is never ending. By experiencing the desert landscape on its magnificent waterways, you will venture in to the most thriving areas in Arizona.
Wildlife sightings are significantly more common on the water than on any other tour in Arizona. You may encounter desert mule deer, javalinas, rattlesnakes, scorpions, big horn sheep, mountain lions, bobcats, coyotes, beavers, wild mules, and otters. Bird fanatics will love the abundance of great blue herons, egrets, quail, doves, roadrunners, cactus wrens, dozens of duck species, red tail hawks, harris hawks, and even bald eagles. Arizona’s warm climate is home to thousands of migratory bird species throughout the year, making its desert waterways the premier wildlife viewing areas.
The Sonoran Deserts native vegetation is perhaps even more impressive. Our guides not only show you the cactus and plant life, but bring you up close and personal so you can see how amazing these gifts of nature truly are. We will demonstrate how the desert animals survive by eating the prickly pear cactus. We will show you how to eat the most dangerous cactus in the desert, the teddy bear cholla. We will also get you hands on with the mighty Saguaro cactus, and explain its wonders and amazing ability for survival. There are thousands of species of vegetation, and we are experts at all of them. Some of them offer medicinal uses, others are edible, and all of them are truly special.
We outfit our Eco Tour Adventures with a 24 foot Ranger bay boat. Unlike other water tour companies, we believe in getting up close and personal with nature, and these boats allow us to do just that. We are able to travel at high speeds from one area of the lake to the other, and traverse into very shallow water. After all, the action is on the waters edge, and that’s were we’ll be!
Incredible views, spectacular scenery, wondrous vegetation, majestic wildlife, and great history of generations past make this the ultimate Sonoran Desert Experience!

Morning and afternoon trips are available daily. Tour times are 3-4 hours.
