John has won over two millions dollars in his tournament career so far, including 2 Bass Master Events, 7 Won Bass Events, 2 U.S. Open Championships, 4 Daiwa Cups, has won over 30 bass boats, and has qualified for 5 Bass Master Classics. John competes on the Bass Master Elite Tour, is a regular on ESPN’s Bassmaster Television show, and is the host of Bassfan.com’s “Big Stick on Tour”. John is an Arizona resident, and has joined The Hook Up guide team during his tournament season and off season to create this one of a kind guiding opportunity.
John is considered one of the greatest western anglers of all time, and he is excited to share his knowledge of bass and techniques with his clients. John guides on famous Arizona waterways Lake Pleasant and Roosevelt Lake, as well as Saguaro Lake and Bartlett Lake. He specializes in instructional trips, teaching bass behavior, seasonal strategies, bait selection, and technique. Anyone looking to gain an edge in their own fishing or learn tournament winning strategies should expect to learn a ton from their day on the water.
John also will be guiding after several of the Bass Master Elite Tour stops at some of the better fisheries, such as Lake Erie and Lake Champlain. This is a once in a lifetime chance to fish with an Elite series angler on the Bass Master Tour lakes, right after an Elite event. These are high-in-demand trips, and are only offered for a couple days throughout the year. Check the schedule below for availability.
As with all trips offered by The Hook Up Outfitters, John will provide all the gear and equipment needed for the day, and clients will be fishing from his Bass Master Elite Series Ranger Bass Boat and Mercury Outboard.

Arizona Trips - *Due
to the room required to cast a fly rod, we limit our fly fishing
trips to 2 angler’s maximum per boat. If you have a larger
party, we can arrange multiple boats or we may be able to accommodate
you on board our 24 foot Ranger bay boat. Please inquire.
*Resort pickup and transportation is available at an additional
charge upon request. Please let us know where you will be staying,
and we will gladly handle the logistics.
*Arizona fishing license’s are available on board all of our
charters. If you are traveling to Arizona there is no need to pre-purchase
your license, we have already arranged that service for you.
