We are teaming up with the United Arizona Anglers Foundation. 100% of dollars raised through raffles will benefit the conservation effort of maintaining and growing healthy bass populations in AZ. Three years ago the Salt River chain of lakes in central Arizona were hit hard with sudden fish kills, eliminating three of our trophy bass fisheries. The vital restoration process needs support, and this event will raise money to help bring those lakes back for future great fishing opportunities in Arizona.

1. Participation is open to anyone. Any person entering a tournament under the age of majority must also have the signature of their parent or legal guardian in the provided space on the entry form. The Hook Up Outfitters reserves the right to refuse and accept entry to anyone.
2. Entries may be made either by mail, email, or phone. Add 5% for any credit card payments (Visa/MC Only). All entries must be received by March 23, 2008. No entries will be accepted after this date. No refunds will be given after the official entry deadline.
3. There is no off-limits for pre-fish.
4. Each team must register in person at the designated site, The Hook Up Outfitters Store at Lake Pleasant Harbor Marina South Ramp, during official registration hours, 1-6 P.M. April 3, and 4 A.M. to Take off April 4. Each team must receive a start number and go through boat check each morning prior to take off. Boat check will check for working aerated livewells, and make sure there are no non fly fishing related baits, lures, rods or reels on board.
5. Safe boating must be observed at all times. Each contestant is required to wear a fastened, U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device any time the combustion engine is in operation from boat check until weigh-in. At the discretion of the tournament director, tournament days may be shortened, postponed or canceled due to unsafe weather or water conditions.
6. All contestants are required to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy and conservation and to conduct themselves in a manner that will be a credit to themselves, tournament sponsors, the sport of fly fishing and The Hook Up Outfitters efforts to promote the sport. Examples of conduct not complying with those standards includes, but are not limited to, the following:

o Violation of, or failure to comply with, any of the official rules.
o Consumption and/or possession of alcoholic beverages or any kind of mind-altering substance during tournament hours.
o Conviction of a felony within the past 36 months.
o Suspension/disqualification from any tournament or fishing organization.
o Any other words, conduct or actions reflecting unfavorably upon efforts to promote safety, sportsmanship, fair competition and compliance with tournament rules, or which fail to comply with the standards set forth in the first sentence of paragraph 6.
In case of any conduct not complying with the standards, The Hook Up Outfitters shall have the right to refuse any application, or to deny a confirmed application, by returning the entry fee of a previously accepted application, or to disqualify a contestant.
7. Each boat must have all required U.S. Coast Guard safety equipment.
8. Any length and size boat is acceptable, as long as the boat has a working aerated livewell, and both team members can fit onboard. Single person teams are allowed.
9. Boats must contain a properly aerated livewell space to maintain alive a limit catch of bass.
10. All bass must be caught alive in a conventional sporting manner. Largemouth Bass are the only keep able species for weigh in. Sight fish bass must be hooked inside the mouth.
11. Only fly rods, fly reels, and fly lines may be used. Any other form of equipment either in use, or on board, is grounds for an automatic disqualification.
12. Only flies may be used. Any fly being used must either be commercially produced or considered a “fly” by industry professionals. No lures or bait will be allowed. Tournament Director will have final say on any “fly” disputes.
13. Only one rod per person may be used at a time.
14. A maximum of two flies per person may be used at one time.
15. Trolling as a method of fishing is prohibited.
16. Contestants may fish anywhere on tournament waters available to the public and accessible by boat, except areas designated as "off limits" or "no fishing" by local, state or federal officials or within 50 feet of a competitor's boat that was first anchored. An anchored boat is a boat held in a stable position by a line attached to a weight or by a Power Pole with the trolling motor in the up position.
17. All angling must be conducted from the boat.
18. Contestants must leave and return to the official checkpoint by boat.
19. The boat must remain in the tournament waters during the tournament day.
20. No tournament boat may be loaded on the trailer before the weigh-in except with the permission of the tournament director.
21. In the event of equipment failure or emergency, there will be only two permitted methods of returning to the official check-in:
1. by both partners remaining in their boat and being towed by water, or
2. by both partners entering the boat of another tournament contestant.
Under these two conditions the contestants' catches may be counted without a penalty (except for late penalties, dead-fish penalties or other penalties pertaining to other tournament rules). Contestants who elect to return to the official check-in by any other means than cited above will forfeit their day's catch to that point in time of the tournament day.
22. Any contestant returning to the check-in point will be eligible to restart and resume competition under the supervision of the tournament director or his designated tournament official. It is the sole responsibility of contestants to locate the tournament director to request a restart.
23. There will be only one official checkpoint for boat check in the morning and one official check-in point in the afternoon. Failure to go through boat check and check-out in the morning or failure to check in at the check-in point will result in disqualification. All fishing must cease upon check-in.
24. Contestants who are not at the official check-in area at the appointed time will be penalized 1 pound per minute, deducted from the total weight, including any weight to be counted toward a big-bass award. Any contestant more than 15 minutes late will lose credit for that day's weight.
25. Every effort must be made to keep bass alive through the use of a properly aerated livewell. The Hook Up Outfitters recommends the use of Rejuvenade or Please Release Me, which promotes the healthy return of bass to their natural habitat. Eight ounces will be deducted from the total weight for each dead bass presented for weigh-in.
26. The heaviest one-day catch will break ties on the final weigh-in. Big fish weight will break additional ties.
27. Each contestant agrees to submit, by signature on the official tournament liability waiver, to a polygraph examination and to abide by its conclusion. Failure to pass an examination will result in disqualification. Polygraphs will be used at The Hook Up Outfitters' sole discretion and the determination of the meaning of the results will be made solely by The Hook Up Outfitters.
28. Bag Limit: This tournament will be a five fish limit. Largemouth bass are the only fish to be weighed in. There is no size limit on the fish. Only five fish may be possessed at one time. Culling is allowed, but teams must stop fishing until the cull has completed.
